Hempstead, NY – Hofstra University junior forward Shante Evans was named the GoHofstra.com Student-Athlete of the Week, it was announced today.
Evans had double-doubles in both of the Pride's games last week, averaging team-bests of 20 points and 10 rebounds.
Evans opened the week with a 19-point, 10-rebound effort in Hofstra's 82-75 win over William & Mary on February 2.
She would follow that up with her best offensive production of the season on Sunday as she poured in a season-high 31 points and added 10 rebounds in the Pride's narrow 81-79 loss to Old Dominion.
Evans, who now has 13 double-doubles this season, is averaging 18.4 points and 10.3 rebounds per game for the 16-6 Pride.
Hofstra returns to action on Thursday when it travels to Virginia Commonwealth for a 7 p.m. contest.
