Lewisburg, PA - Freshman Sonia Tsay captured the Flight C title at the Bucknell Invitational on Sunday as she defeated Tara Majdalani of Duquesne, 6-1, 6-3, to put the finishing touches on a 4-0 weekend.

Hofstra had a pair of other players advance to the semifinals at the invitational as freshman Malissa Gilanchi and classmate Paige Polizois made their way to the "final four" at Flight B and Flight C, respectively.

Tsay defeated Kelly Conroy of Mount St. Mary's in the first round before adding a quarterfinal victory over Allie Harding of Villanova and a 7-6, 6-4 victory over Lauren Cassle of Loyola in the semifinals.

Polizois nearly joined Tsay in the finals before dropping a 6-2, 6-4 decision to Majdalani in the semifinals.

Gilanchi was Hofstra's other semifinalist in singles play as she defeated Daria Tuzhikova of Bucknell in the quarterfinals before falling to Megan O'Sullivan of Duquesne in the semifinals.

Hofstra got its best showing in doubles play from the team of senior Zoe Taylor and freshman Paige Polizois.  The duo made their way to the semifinals before falling, 8-2, to Conroy and O'Sullivan of Duquesne.

Hofstra returns to action on Tuesday when they host Fairleigh Dickinson at 3 p.m.  That match will take place at Eisenhower Park in East Meadow, New York.
