HOFSTRA ROLLS TO VICTORY OVER MANHATTAN

Riverdale, NY - The Hofstra Women's Tennis has little difficulty in defeating Manhattan College, 7-0, on Sunday after at The Horace Mann School in Riverdale, New York.  The Pride won five of the six singles matches, with all five wins coming in straight sets.

Hofstra evens its dual match record at 1-1 this season and the Pride will next be in action in a dual match on October 29 when they host Rhode Island at 2 p.m.  That match will take place at Eisenhower Park in East Meadow, New York.

The Pride easily earned the doubles point as Lauren Clifton and Sonia Tsay teamed up for an 8-0 win at second doubles before Hofstra clinched the doubles point with an 8-3 victory from Zoe Taylor and Malissa Gilanchi at first doubles.

Brooke Sailer got Hofstra started in singles play as she tallied a 6-1, 6-1 win at sixth singles, and she was followed shortly thereafter by Gilanchi, who earned a 6-2, 6-1 victory at fifth singles.  Hofstra's other three singles wins also came in straight sets, including Taylor, who won by the score of 6-0, 6-4 at first singles.
