11/5/2009 4:00:00 PM

Senior midfielder Rory McCrea has been a four-year starter for the Pride since joining the program in 2006 from Sherburn-In-Elmet, England. He has spent most of his career as a defensive midfielder, but he has also scored some key goals for the Pride, including one in the Pride's 2-0 win over Providence in the opening round of the 2006 NCAA Tournament.

In addition to playing with Hofstra, McCrea also represented Great Britain at the 2007 World University Games in Thailand, and played this past summer for the Ocean City Barons of the Premier Development League. The Barons advanced to the third round of the U.S. Open Cup against D.C. United, becoming the first amateur team in the 96-year history of the event to defeat two professional teams. The Barons also reached the quarterfinals of the PDL playoffs, and McCrea was named the team's Most Valuable Player at the conclusion of the season.
