Hempstead, NY- Sophomore Amanda Heyde stabilized the goalkeeper position this year, leading Hofstra into the CAA Championship by picking up wins in four of the Pride's final five regular season games. Her late surge helped set up a semifinal contest against 10th-ranked Drexel Saturday at 1 p.m.
Heyde led Pride goalkeepers with an 8-4 record, logging a 2.44 goals against average in allowing just 32 goals in logging just less than 917 minutes. Heyde also picked up a shutout in Hofstra's season-opening victory.
As a freshman, Heyde won two CAA Rookie of the Week awards and played in Hofstra's 3-2 loss to William and Mary in the quarterfinal round of the conference tournament. Heyde will get another postseason start Saturday against a Drexel offense that statistically ranked first in the nine-team CAA.
