Hempstead, NY - Hofstra University Head Volleyball Coach Kristina Hernandez today announced the signing of 6'0 middle blocker Ayesha Hein to a National Letter of Intent to begin her academic and athletic career at Hofstra in the fall of 2010.

"We are extremely excited to add Ayesha to our program.  She is a dedicated worker in the gym and is very competitive," commented Hernandez.  "Ayesha will have an immediate impact for us in the middle and on the right side with her speed and strength."

Hein, a native of Honolulu, Hawaii, currently attends St. Andrew's Priory School in Honolulu where she has played volleyball since seventh grade.

A member of the ASICS Rainbows Volleyball Club, Hein helped lead the team to an Aloha Region first place finish and also a first place finish at the SCVA SoCal Qualifier.

Hein was named an ILH Division II All-Star by the Honolulu Advertiser, and also an Oceanic Time-Warner OC 16 Sports Impact Player.
