Hempstead,
NY - Hofstra junior attackman Stephen Bentz has been named the GoHofstra.com
Student-Athlete of the Week for the period ending Sunday, March 7.
Bentz, a native of Massapequa, New York, continued his fine start to the 2010 season
by scoring three goals and adding two assists in the Pride's 15-12 victory over
the #19 Bears of Brown at Shuart Stadium last Saturday. He tallied all three of
his goals in the Pride's six-goal second quarter that put Hofstra ahead for
good.
In
the season opener at Princeton on February 27, Bentz recorded two goals and added
two assists. He now is tied for team-high honors with five goals and leads the
Pride with four assists on the season.
Bentz and the Pride return to action this Saturday, March 13 when #10 Hofstra
(1-1) entertains #7 Johns Hopkins (3-1) at James M. Shuart Stadium at 7 p.m.
