BRIGHAM NAMED GOHOFSTRA.COM PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Hempstead, NY - Hofstra University senior guard Sam Brigham was named the GoHofstra.com Player of the Week for her strong play in the Pride's two games in the Postseason WNIT, it was announced today.

Brigham shined in the final two games of her career as she led Hofstra in scoring in both of the Pride's two WNIT games, scoring 18 points at Penn State and following that up with a 17-point outing at Virginia Commonwealth.

Against the Lady Lions, Brigham was 7-11 from the field and 3-4 from beyond the arc as she carried Hofstra to the 76-68 victory over Penn State. Brigham hit several clutch shots down the stretch to fend off any thoughts of a comeback by Penn State, while also adding five assists and two blocks to her efforts.

After ending the Penn State game with 999 career points, Brigham reached the 1,000-point plateau in the final game of her career. The senior from Simsbury, CT hit a trio of three-pointers in the game, along with a 4-4 showing from the free throw line. She also added two rebounds and two steals in 32 minutes.

Brigham finished her career with 1,016 points, ranking 19th all-time. She also hit 129 three-pointers in her career, which ranks as the sixth-most in program history.
