Fairfield, CT - The Hofstra Women's Tennis team rebounded after dropping the doubles point to take four of the six singles matches en route to an exciting 4-3 win over Sacred Heart on Thursday afternoon.
Hofstra improved to 7-5 with the win and returns home for its next two matches as they will host Hartford on Friday at 3 p.m. and George Mason on Saturday at 1 p.m.
Hofstra got a pair of near shutout wins at first and second singles to lead the comeback victory as Zoe Taylor and Lauren Clifton each won 6-1, 6-0 matches and first and second singles, respectively. The Pride would clinch the win with victories at fourth and fifth singles from Malissa Gilanchi and Sonia Tsay.
On the men's side, Hofstra fell to 0-13 with a 7-0 loss to the Pioneers. The doubles duo of Ben Thompson-Star and Jon Disley picked up Hofstra's lone win in the match as they earned an 8-6 victory at first doubles.
The men are also in action on Friday and Saturday versus Hartford and George Mason.
