Hempstead, NY - FANS, now is your chance to have a say in the GoHofstra.com Player of the Week.

Below is a quick recap on each of the nominees' relevant statistics from the past week. Voting is now open and will close at noon on Wednesday. Each week's statistics include contests from the previous Monday-Sunday

Men's Lacrosse - Jay Card
Jay Card continues his hot hand since returning from a mid-season injury, adding five goals and six assists in two Hofstra victories last week. Card tallied two goals and three assists in just two quarters of action in the Pride's 18-2 victory over Manhattan. On Saturday at the New Meadowlands Stadium, Card tallied three goals and three assists to lead Hofstra to a 12-11 CAA win over Delaware. He also added two grounds balls against the Jaspers and four against the Blue Hens. Card now has 22 goals, is tied for the team-lead with 19 assists, and is second on the team with 41 points.

Women's Tennis - Lauren Clifton
Junior Lauren Clifton starred for the Pride this week as she lead Hofstra to an undefeated week in winning all three of their matches, a 4-3 win over Sacred Heart, a 7-0 win over Hartford and a 5-2 triumph over conference rival George Mason.  Clifton was unbeaten all week as she went a combined 6-0 for the Pride, compiling a 3-0 mark in singles and doubles (with Sonia Tsay).  In her three singles matches, Clifton only dropped a total of five games as she started it off with a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Darcy Demers of Sacred Heart.  She followed that up with a 6-0, 6-0 shutout win over Maggie Sabatino of Hartford before closing her stellar week with a 6-4, 6-0 win over Alison Wingo of George Mason.  All three of her matches were played at second singles and the junior from Woodstock, Georgia would team with Tsay at second doubles for an unblemished 3-0 mark there as well.  The duo picked up Hofstra's only win against Sacred Heart with an 8-6 victory before closing the week with an 8-0 win over Hartford and an 8-2 win over George Mason.  Hofstra closes the regular season on Monday when they travel to Stony Brook for a 2 p.m. match.

Women's Lacrosse - Liz Falco
Senior attack Liz Falco had an excellent week for the Pride in leading Hofstra (8-3, 2-0 CAA) to a pair of victories.  Falco got Hofstra started on Friday night as Hofstra dominated the #19 Tribe behind a career-high tying four goals from Falco.  Falco also added a draw control in the game and scored all four of her goals in the second half to hold off any thoughts of a William & Mary comeback.  The senior transfer from Marist would one-up herself on Sunday as she tied for game-high honors with six points on two goals and four assists.  Both the assists and points totals were career-highs for Falco, who also added two draw controls, a ground ball and a caused turnover.  Falco made sure Hofstra would never trail against the Lady Monarchs as she got Hofstra on the board first with a goal just 14 seconds into the game.  For the week Falco tallied six goals, four assists, 10 points, three draw controls, one ground ball and one caused turnover.  Falco is second on the Pride in scoring this season with 29 points on 19 goals and 10 assists.  She also has 11 draw controls, seven ground balls and five caused turnovers.

Softball - Olivia Galati
Galati went 4-0 with a save in the circle in a 6-0 week for the Pride, including two shutout victories and a save in a three-game sweep of James Madison. She had an 0.76 ERA for the week with 37 strikeouts and six walks, including a 0.00 ERA, 24 strikeouts and one walk in the JMU series. She also batted .348 with two homers and five RBI at the plate on the week, including at least one hit in all six games. In the first game of the JMU series, Galati threw a five-hit shutout and struck out 17 batters (with no walks), the highest strikeout total for any Hofstra pitcher since Erin Phillips set the school record with 19 against Manhattan in 1996. Galati then came on in relief in the nightcap with Hofstra leading 4-3 and the bases loaded and threw 1.2 innings of perfect relief, earning the save as the Pride won 6-3. She capped off the weekend with a two-hitter on Sunday, as she did not allow a single JMU runner past first base. At the plate, her solo home run provided the margin of victory in a 2-1 win over Rutgers on Wednesday, while she also homered in the 6-3 win over JMU. She improved to 17-2 with a 1.04 ERA on the year, ranking in the top 20 in the nation in both winning percentage and ERA.

Baseball - Ethan Paquette
Senior infielder Ethan Paquette (West Burke, VT/) finished the week 5-for-16 (.312) with two home runs, nine runs batted in, four runs scored and four extra-base hits in four games. Paquette hit a pair home runs against New York Tech, belting a three-run home run and a grand slam to complete a school-record nine-RBI afternoon. He finished 4-for-6 with three runs scored and broke by one run teammate Matt Prokopowicz's previous record for runs batted in during a single game. Paquette also finished 1-for-3 with a run scored in the Pride's series finale against Georgia State on Sunday and handled two defensive chances in his first start at third base without an error. The Vermont transfer already has two grand slams this season and leads the Pride with five long balls.
