MCNAMARA TIED FOR 33RD AFTER FIRST ROUND OF CAA CHAMPIONSHIP

Hot Springs, VA - Freshman Connell McNamara shot a 70 (+8) and is tied for 33rd place after the first round of the Colonial Athletic Association Championship at The Cascades at The Homestead. McNamara is 10 strokes off the lead.

McNamara had two double-bogey's and two bogey's on the front nine, before settling down on the back. The freshman bogeyed 11 and 12 before scoring par on the final six holes.

Freshman Harry Poster is tied for 49th after posting an 82 (+12), while sophomore Chris Davis is 52nd at 85 (+15). Freshman Andrew Roberts is tied for 53rd with an 86 (+16), while junior Justin Nash is 55th at 101 (+31).

As a team Hofstra is in 11th place in the 11-team field with a team score of 331 (+51).Towson leads after the first round at 283 (+3). The Tigers John Duthie is tied for the lead with William & Mary's Scott Saal after first round scores of 68 (-2).

The second round of the three round tournament is scheduled for Saturday.
