Hempstead, NY - FANS, now is your chance to have a say in the GoHofstra.com Player of the Week.

Softball - Michele DePasquale
DePasquale batted .500 (8-16) in a 4-1 week for the Pride with three homers and 10 RBI, for a slugging percentage of 1.125. She had the game-winning RBI in three of Hofstra's four wins, breaking 0-0 ties with homers in mid-week home wins over Marist and Fairfield, and hitting a two-run double in a 7-4 win over Towson on Saturday. She added a two-run homer and hit a ball off the wall in the seventh inning to nearly lead the Pride back from a 4-0 deficit in its 4-3 loss to Towson on Sunday. Despite the defeat, DePasquale still helped the Pride to a 2-1 series win, and she has still not lost a CAA series in her four-year career (23 series wins and one doubleheader split vs. Towson in 2007). DePasquale how has 186 career hits, 14 shy of becoming the ninth player in school history with 200 in a career, and 94 RBI, six shy of becoming the 13th player to reach 100.

Men's Lacrosse - Kevin Ford
Kevin Ford led the Pride with three goals in the Pride's 11-10 overtime loss at Penn State this past Saturday night. The Floral Park, NY native, playing in just his fourth game of the season after suffering foot injuries prior to and during the season, recorded his fourth hat-trick of the year. He now has 12 goals and four assists in four games.

Baseball - Matt Prokopowicz
Senior second baseman Matt Prokopowicz (Massapequa, NY) finished a four-game week a combined 7-for-18 (.388) with four RBIs and four runs scored. Prokopowicz started his week with a 1-for-3 effort that featured a run scored against St. John's before going 3-for-5 with a run in the series opener against VCU. Prokopowicz capped his weekend with back-to-back two-RBI games, finishing with a 2-for-5 output with two runs scored in series finale against the Rams on Sunday. The middle infielder now has 233 career hits, giving him two more than Josh Stern (2003-06) for second-most in Hofstra's history. Ricky Caputo (2003-06) holds the top mark with 248 hits, which Prokopowicz is on pace to break.

Women's Lacrosse - K'Leigh Vanaman
Vanaman had a strong week for the Pride in all facets of her game as she led Hofstra in goals (5), draw controls (7), ground balls (4) and caused turnovers (2), while ranking third on the team in points with five.  In Hofstra's 12-9 victory over George Mason on Friday, Vanaman notched a hat trick, but was especially clutch late as she scored her final two goals of the game after the Patriots had narrowed the deficit to one goal, 10-9, with just under 13 minutes remaining.  Her three goals tied for team-high honors against George Mason and she also led the Pride with four draw controls and three ground balls.  In the game against the #10 Dukes, Vanaman tied for the team-high total with two goals, and was once again strong on the draw controls with a team-best three.  One of Hofstra's most versatile players this season, Vanaman ranks third on the team in scoring this year with 28 points on 19 goals and nine assists, while also adding 27 ground balls, 32 draw controls and 12 caused turnovers.  She ranks second on the team in ground balls and draw controls and third in caused turnovers.
