Women's Lacrosse - Mary Cuddihy
Senior goalie Mary Cuddihy started both games for Hofstra this week and shined as she made 20 saves in the Pride's 1-1 week. Against Delaware in Hofstra's 15-6 rout of the Blue Hens, Cuddihy played just over 50 minutes in net and tallied eight saves to earn the victory. She also added a game-high tying two caused turnovers and chipped in with a pair of ground balls. Despite the loss on Sunday at Towson (9-7), Cuddihy was strong in goal as she played all 60 minutes. The senior from Manhasset, NY notched a career-high 12 saves, while also picking up a pair of ground balls. For the week, Cuddihy was 1-1 with a .588 saves percentage and a goals against average of 7.59.
Baseball – John Kenny
Senior outfielder John Kenny (Franklin Square, NY/Valley Stream) capped a hot-hitting five-game week by batting 16-for-23 (.695) with seven runs scored, five stolen bases and five RBIs as Hofstra won all five games. Kenny recorded three four-hit games with four total multi-hit games. He started the week with a 4-for-4, three-run effort with three stolen bases and an RBI against Army. The centerfielder followed with a 4-for-5 day against Stony Brook before going 5-for-6 with two runs scored, three RBIs and one stolen base against CAA-rival William and Mary in Game 1 of Saturday's doubleheader. Kenny also handled all seven defensive chances without an error during the week.
Men's Lacrosse - Brad Loizeaux
Brad Loizeaux scored career-highs of three goals and five points in the Pride's 14-10 victory over Jacksonville at James M. Shuart Stadium Saturday. The sophomore tallied two goals and two assists in the second half as the Pride rallied from an 8-6 halftime deficit. His third goal of the game gave the Pride a 10-9 lead just 1:32 into the fourth quarter. He then assisted on Dan Stein's goal at the 9:52 mark that gave Hofstra a 11-10 advantage and the lead for good. Loizeaux, who is enjoying the best season of his career, now has 18 goals and 11 assists.
Softball - Tessa Ziemba
Freshman outfielder Tessa Ziemba batted .600 overall (6-10) and had a pair of perfect days at the plate in the Pride's 3-1 week. After going 1-2 with a walk against Fordham All-America pitching candidate Jen Mineau (26-5, 0.70 ERA) in a 1-0 Pride defeat, she batted 3-for-3 with two stolen bases and three runs scored in a 10-2 win over St. John's, which improved Hofstra's record to 8-0 against the Big East this season. She capped off the week by going 2-for-2 with a walk, a double and an RBI in a win over UNC Wilmington in the second game of a doubleheader sweep on Saturday. She had an .800 slugging percentage and a .692 on base percentage for the week, and leads the Pride with 31 RBI this season.
