Hempstead,
NY - Hofstra seniors Christian Scuderi and Dan Stein have been named to the
North roster for the 2010 Lax World/USILA Division I-II North-South Senior
All-Star Game, the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association announced
Wednesday.
The Division I-II and the Division III All-Star Games will be held on Friday, May 28 at Goucher College in Towson, Maryland.
The Division III game will start at 3 p.m. at Beldon Field, while the Division
I/II contest begins at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are available on site for $5 each.
Scuderi, a defenseman from West Islip, New York, was a two-year starter for the
Pride after transferring from New York Institute of Technology in 2008. In
2010, he led the Pride defense and ranked third overall on the team with 38
ground balls while starting all 14 games. Scuderi also led the Pride and ranked
78th in the country in caused turnovers with 15. He picked up multiple ground
balls in 11 games including five against Brown, and four against NCAA tournament
teams Army, Delaware and Maryland.
In 2009, he
earned All-CAA first team honors and USILA All-America Honorable Mention after
recording 33 ground balls. Scuderi, who played on a national championship team
in 2008 at New York Tech, was a two-time USILA Division II All-American.
Stein, who switched to the midfield to stabilize a young unit in 2010 after
three years on attack, was a four-year letterman for the Pride. In 2010, the
Merrick, New York native recorded eight goals and six assists and tallied two
game-winning goals in 14 games for Hofstra. Stein posted a season-high two
goals at St. John's in March and also tallied a goal and an assist at Drexel in
early April. He also notched the game-winning goals against both Delaware and
Jacksonville.
Stein tallied 50 goals and 25 assists during his 56-game Hofstra career. He
recorded a career-best 22 goals and 10 assists in 15 games as a sophomore in
2008. Stein was named to the CAA All-Rookie Team as a freshman in 2007 after
posting 14 goals and four assists.
