Hempstead, NY - Hofstra seniors Matt Prokopowicz and Ethan Paquette were invited to attend a New York Mets tryout at Citi Field this past Sunday (May 30) as the Mets prepare for the upcoming Major League Baseball Draft.

The two were part of a group of more than 25 college and high school prospects that took part in the workout. Prokopowicz, who played mainly third base and second base during his four years with the Pride, is projected as a catcher at the pro level and worked out for the Mets behind the plate. Prokopowicz has also attended workouts for other MLB teams, including the Los Angeles Dodgers. Paquette worked out at both outfield and first base for the Mets.

The MLB First Year Player Draft takes place from June 7 to June 9.
