Hempstead, N.Y. - The Hofstra Softball program donated $3,031 dollars to Breast Cancer Help, Inc. from the sales of pink t-shirts during the program's Think Pink Day this season.

The Pride hosted a Think Pink Day for the second year in a row when it hosted Drexel on Friday, May 7. Louise Valentino, mother of junior catcher Laura Valentino (Smithtown, NY), threw out the first pitch prior to the contest to commemorate the event. Louise Valentino is a 10-year survivor of breast cancer.

In addition to hosting a Think Pink Day, Hofstra softball players have also participated in several Walk For The Cure events to raise money for breast cancer research as well.
