Hempstead, NY – After suffering its first conference defeat of the season, the Hofstra Women's Basketball team will host Northeastern on Sunday in its final home game during the month of January.

Tip-off against the Huskies is scheduled for 2 p.m. with the Pride entering the game sporting an overall record of 13-4 and a Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) mark of 5-1.  Northeastern is 3-14 and 1-5 in conference play.

Hofstra dropped an 81-63 decision to James Madison on Thursday as Tarik Hislop led the Dukes with 25 points in the win.  The Pride trailed by only three at the break, 35-32, but JMU outscored Hofstra, 46-31, in the second stanza to earn the win.  Sophomore guard Katelyn Loper returned after missing a pair of games and tallied 11 points, while junior forward Shante Evans led Hofstra with 14 points and added eight rebounds.  Evans saw her streak of double-doubles in eight straight games come to an end in the contest.

One of the highest scoring teams in the nation, Hofstra heads into the Northeastern game with four players averaging at least 8.9 points per game.  Evans leads the way with 17.8 points, while Loper (13.3), senior guard Nicole Capurso (12.5) and senior guard Candice Bellocchio (8.9) follow closely behind.

Hofstra Head Coach Krista Kilburn-Steveskey will be looking for her 100th career win in the contest as the sixth-year head coach is sporting a career mark of 99-77.

Northeastern is led in scoring by Deanna Kerkhof with 12.6 points per game.  Jewel Tunstull also averages in double digits with 12 points per outing.
