Hempstead, N.Y. - Hofstra University head men's basketball coach Mo Cassara announced
today that Daquan Brown has transferred to Hofstra from Fresno State.
Brown, a 6-10 forward, played
his first two collegiate seasons for
Barstow College (Calif.),
where he averaged 14 points, 11 rebounds and two blocks per game as a sophomore
after also averaging a double-double as a freshman with 17 points and 10
rebounds per contest.
Brown
is eligible to practice with Hofstra immediately but is not eligible for
competition this season.

and Taran Buie along with Jordan Allen, who is redshirting this season.
Incoming freshman recruits Dallas Anglin of Seton Hall Prep (N.J.) and Jimmy
Hall of St. Anthony (N.J.) could also help to give the Pride a new look.
Cassara
also announced the addition of walk-on Tevin Smikle to the team. Smikle, a
freshman guard who played for Coral Springs Christian Academy, dressed but did
not see action in Hofstra's victory over Towson on Wednesday.
