2/8/2012 9:00:00 PM

Hempstead, NY - Hofstra senior wrestler Ben Clymer has been named the Colonial Athletic Association Wrestler of the Week for the period ending February 6.

Clymer (Germansville, PA), the ninth-ranked wrestler at 184 pounds this week by InterMat, made a jump of two places following a 2-1 decision over third-ranked Steve Bosak from Cornell in the Pride's 22-12 loss at the Big Red last Saturday. Clymer's third period near-fall stood up in the victory. It was his ninth consecutive victory and boosted his season record to 23-5 overall and a perfect 11-0 in dual matches.

Clymer, who is also ranked ninth by Amateur Wrestling News and 13th by WIN Magazine, remains the number one ranked wrestler at 184 pounds in the CAA. This is his second CAA Wrestler of the Week award this season after receiving the award on January 4, 2012 after placing fourth at the Southern Scuffle.

Clymer shares the CAA Wrestler of the Award this week with Old Dominion sophomore Tristan Warner, who posted a victory over the 24th-ranked wrestler in the country from Central Michigan in the Monarch's upset win over the Chippewa.

Hofstra (10-1), which moved up one place to 22nd this week in the National Wrestling Coaches Association/USA Today Division I Coaches Poll, return to action this Friday, February 10 when they travel to ninth-ranked Pittsburgh for a 7 p.m. match. The Pride will host 19th-ranked Binghamton on Sunday, February 12 in the Mack Physical Education Center at 1 p.m.
