Hempstead, NY - The Pride baseball team, winers of six straight, will look to continute their winning ways when they host Manhattan Tuesday and NYIT Wednesday. Both games take place at 3 p.m. at University Field.
Hofstra (11-16) is fresh off a three-game sweep of CAA-rival George Mason this past weekend, picking up its first conference wins of the year after six losses. The Pride will be looking to avenge a 9-4 loss to Manhattan last season in Riverdale. Jared Rogers is slated to start for the Pride. The senior notched his first win since 2011 last week against NYIT. Manhattan (10-13) has not announced their pitching plans.
Wednesday will mark Hofstra's third game against NYIT in a week as Hofstra hosted the Bears in a doubleheader last Wednesday. Hofstra swept that twin bill, winning 8-4 and 7-2. Gregg Sarra will make his first career start in the contest. Sarra has no record in three appearances this season.
Following the two home games, which end a season-long eight game homestand, the Pride will head to Northeastern for a crucial weekend conference series as the Pride attempt to climb back into the CAA Playoff picture.
