Hempstead, NY - Hofstra won five of six singles matches en route to a 5-1 win over visiting Hartford Wednesday afternoon.

Hofstra improved to 5-8 with the win, while Hartford fell to 3-11 on the year.

Ari Richman, Matthew Gemmell, Adrien Bailly, Joseph Erichsen and Pedro Gimenez all posted wins. Richman won in straight sets over Jordan Badenko at first singles, while Gemmell needed three sets to get past Marco Neves at second singles, 6-4, 6-7, 6-3.

Bailly posted a 6-2, 6-1 win over Nicholas Sharwarko at third singles. Erichsen won by the same score over Luis Montes at fifth singles, while Gimenez downed Bogdan Nedelcu at sixth single, 6-3, 6-1.

Josh Isaacson had Hartford's only win, a 6-4, 6-2 decision over Ryhaan Gill at fourth singles.

The teams did not finish doubles competition, with each squad defaulting one match.
