Williamsburg, VA – Third-seeded James Madison posted a 5-0 victory over #6 Hofstra in the quarterfinals of the 2013 CAA Men's Tennis Championship on Friday at the Millie West Tennis Facility on the campus of William & Mary.
JMU advanced to the CAA semifinals for the first time since 2001 with the win.The Dukes earned the doubles point as the No. 3 team of Bastien Russo and Florent Sentenac blanked the Pride's Pedro Gimenez and Joseph Erichsen, 8-0, and the No. 2 tandem of Hugo Ramadier and Greg Vladimirsky topped Ryhaan Gill and Matthew Gemmell, 8-1.
JMU continued its winning ways in singles play as Robert Stirling got past Gill, 6-0, 6-0 at No. 4 and Maxi Branth defeated Gimenez, 6-1, 6-1 at No. 6. The Dukes closed out the match with victories at the top two spots as No. 1 Ryan Pool beat Hofstra's Ari Richman, 6-4, 6-1, and Ramadier pulled out a 6-0, 7-6 (5), win over Gemmell.
