BB: Hofstra Blanked In Series Finale

Williamsburg, VA - Jason Inghram allowed four hits over seven innings as William & Mary shutout Hofstra, 14-0, to complete a three-game sweep.

Hofstra fell to 23-24, 8-13 in the CAA with the loss. The win improves the Tribe's record to 31-17 on the season and 14-7 in CAA play.

Michael Katz paced the W&M offense with a 4-4 effort, which included four RBIs and three runs scored. Ryan Lindemuth finished contest with three RBIs, two hits and a run scored, while Ryan Williams went 3-5 with three runs batted in as the Tribe posted 19 hits on the day.

Inghram picked up his seventh win of the season and tallied five strikeouts without walking a batter in his seven frames.

The Tribe jumped on Pride starter David D'Errico for three runs in the first with Lindemuth driving in two with a single. William & Mary added four runs in the bottom of the second, which extended its advantage to 7-0. Katz delivered the big hit, a bases loaded triple down the right field line to make it a 6-0 game. Lindemuth pushed across W&M's seventh run of the day with a sacrifice fly to center that brought Katz in from third.

W&M added a run in the fourth before scoring a pair of runs in the fifth, sixth and seventh innings to close out the scoring.

D'Errico fell to 3-3 on the year after allowing eight runs on nine hits in five innings. The Pride managed seven singles on the day. Robbie Cafiero, Joe Perez and TJ Ehrsam were all 1-3 on the day.

Hofstra is back in action Wednesday in a doubleheader at Albany starting at Noon.
