Hempstead, NY - On Saturday, April 27, Hofstra University student-athletes took part in a 5K walk in Eisenhower Park in support of the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Long Island. Student-athletes from cross country, soccer, wrestling and tennis gathered and spent the morning walking with more than 250 other participants while raising money for the organization.
Cross country team members showed up in uniform and ran the race, which took participants on a beautiful path around the park. All guests were treated to music, food and a party after the walk completed. Sophomore tennis player Ari Richman had this to say about the event, “The walk around Eisenhower Park was excellent. The few hundred people who participated were passionate in supporting Big Brothers Big Sisters. It was a great opportunity for Hofstra Athletics to show our support for the organization.”
Hofstra student-athletes raised more than $300 for the event, with all proceeds going to the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Long Island.
