Cody Solaja and
Adrian Sorichetti have been selected to play in the 72nd United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA)/LaxWorld North-South Senior All-Star Game.
The contest will be played at the Edith Robb Dixon Field on the campus of Cabrini College in Radnor, PA, on Friday May 24, 2013. The Division III game will be played at 3:00 p.m. followed by the Division I/II game at 5:30 p.m.
Antoniades, a native of Hauppauge, New York, is a 2011 USILA Division I All-American after ranking fifth in the country in face-off percentage with a .642 mark. A two-time All-CAA selection, earning first team honors as a sophomore and second team honors as a junior, Antoniades ranked third in the CAA, 27th in Division I and led the Pride in ground balls with 76 in 2013. He also ranked sixth in the CAA while winning 128 of 256 face-offs (500). He tallied 11 or more face-off wins in seven contests and scored his lone goal of the season at St. Joseph's. Antoniades, who was also a CAA All-Rookie pick in 2010, picked up a season-high 10 ground balls against Sacred Heart. He played in 58 games during his Hofstra career, recording six goals, seven assists, 282 ground balls and winning 625 of 1121 face-offs (.557).
Solaja, a native of Dallas, Texas, anchored the Hofstra defense that ranked third in the country in scoring defense. The four-year starter started in all 14 games in 2013. He recorded 11 ground balls and forced five turnovers while defending one of the top players from the opposition. He picked up a season-high two ground balls against Sacred Heart, Fairfield and Notre Dame. The 2010 CAA All-Rookie Team selection played in 56 games and recorded 50 ground balls during his Hofstra career.
Sorichetti, a native of Whitby, Ontario, Canada, is a 2012 All-CAA first team selection after leading the Pride in points (38) on 24 goals and 14 assists that season. This year, he was third on the Hofstra team in goals (15) and points (27), and was second in assists with 12 while starting all 14 games. He posted two multi-goal games in 2013 including four against Delaware and two against Dartmouth. He also posted two assists against Dartmouth and Sacred Heart. A CAA All-Rookie Team selection in 2010, Sorichetti played in 52 games during his Pride career and recorded 60 goals and 33 assists for 93 points.
This year's selections mark the ninth time that Hofstra has placed three players in the USILA North-South Senior All-Star Game. In 2011 Jay Card, Steven DeNapoli and Mike Skudin represented the Pride in the USILA North-South All-Star Game.
