Junior Becky Kazaks was one of 10 Hofstra players named to the NFHCA National Academic Squad

Hempstead, NY - The Pride field hockey team saw 10 players named to the Gladiator by SGI/National Field Hockey Coaches Association National Academic Squad (NFHCA), which was announced today.

Hofstra players named to the team, which recognizes field hockey student-athletes who have achieved a 3.30 grade point average or better during the fall semester of the 2009-10 academic year, were juniors Becky Kazaks, Amy-Lee Levey and Nancy Wagenbrenner, sophomores Meredith Golden, Katelyn Lewia and Darrah Rachman, and freshmen Jillian Geysen, Meg Leusch, Codi Nyland and Lauren Vallee.

Levey and Wagenbrenner have been named to the squad three times in their careers, while Golden, Lewia and Rachman are two-time honorees. Kazaks, Geysen, Leusch, Nyland and Vallee are first-time selections.
