Hempstead, NY – As the 2010 Hofstra Softball regular season concludes with a three-game home series against Drexel this weekend, it will feature a series of special events. Hofstra will host Think Pink Day to support breast cancer awareness on Friday, while Saturday will be senior day.
On Friday, Louise Valentino, mother of junior catcher Laura Valentino (Smithtown, NY), will throw out the first pitch. Louise Valentino is a 10-year survivor of cancer. Hofstra will be selling Pink T-shirts at all three games this weekend to help raise awareness.
On Saturday, the Pride will look to honor the four members of the Hofstra Softball Class of 2010 - first baseman Michele DePasquale (Waterford, NJ) and outfielders Stefanie Feinstein (West Chester, PA), Christie Novatin (Farmingdale, NJ) and Kris Root (Waynesboro, PA).
The three game series includes a doubleheader on Friday at 12 noon and a single game on Saturday also at 12 noon.
