Loudonville, NY - Two Pride singles players advanced to the semifinals of their respective flights and one doubles team will play in their flight championship as Hofstra completed a successful first day at the Siena Fall Invitational on Saturday.

Sonia Tsay reached the Flight A semifinals with a 3-6, 6-4, 11-9 win over Marist's Melissa Carlay. Tsay will face Erika Goldsmith of Queens on Sunday.

Sarah Bowen posted a 6-3, 6-0 win over Kaye Eastman of Marist and will meet Anna Rodionova of Queens in Sunday's Flight B semifinal. Malissa Gilanchi also competed at Flight B, but lost her opening match, 6-3, 6-2, to Jennifer Fridman of Queens. Gilanchi advances to the backdraw finals on Sunday.

In the C Flight, Paige Polizois lost her opening match to Nikki Rohan of Marist, 6-4, 6-4, and then dropped a backdraw match to Siena's Cassandra Braz, 9-8 (7-5). Bianca Derrick is also competing at the C Flight and will meet Erika Reagan of Siena in a quarterfinal on Sunday.

Derrick and Tsay teamed together at Flight A Doubles, where they dropped an 8-2 decision to Joana Sun and Karlene Pang of Marist in a quarterfinal contest.

The team of Gilanchi and Bowen advanced to the Flight B Finals with a pair of wins Saturday. The duo defeated Rodionova and Darby Brandon of Queens in the quarterfinals, 8-6, and then posted an 8-2 win over Siena's Allysa Singh and Reagan. The pair will face an opponent still to be determined in Sunday's final.
