Hempstead, NY – Hofstra University Head Men’s Basketball Coach Mo Cassara announced today that Gervelle Kidd has signed a National Letter of Intent to begin his academic and athletic career at Hofstra in the fall of 2013.
Kidd, a 6-4 wing forward from Martinsville, Virginia, is currently enrolled at Hargrave Military Academy in Chatham, Virginia.
In his senior year of high school, prior to enrolling at Hargrave, Kidd averaged 19 points per game and was first team All-Piedmont. During his junior campaign he set a school record with eight three-pointers in a game and was the Piedmont District Co-Player of the Year. In 10th grade, Kidd averaged 19 points per contest, was second team All-Piedmont and had a season-high of 33 points in a game.
"We are thrilled to add Gervelle Kidd to our basketball program,” commented Cassara. “Gervelle provides the type of character and work ethic that are going to be integral parts of our program’s future development. He is joining us after a prep year at the very prestigious Hargrave Military Academy and we all look forward to him joining the Pride."
