Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra Men's Cross Country Team will conclude its 2012 season this Saturday, November 17 when the Pride compete in the 2012 Intercollegiate Association of Amateur Athletes of America (IC4A) Championships at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx, New York. Race time for the five-mile, University Division race is 12:15 p.m.

The last time the Pride men ran as a team was on October 27 at the 8K 2012 Colonial Athletic Association Championship in Williamsburg, Virginia. Freshman Sean Flannery placed 40th to lead the Pride to a fifth-place finish. Flannery (Brookline, NH) posted an 8K time of 29:26. Sophomore Junior Felix Rosario (Baldwin, NY) was the Pride's second runner, placing 41st in 30:50. Junior Mike Della Vecchia (Dix Hills, NY) finished 43rd in 32:18 with classmate Marianelson Amalraj (Bangalore, India) placing 44th in 32:45. Sophomore Christian Peterson (East Moriches, NY) was the Pride's final scorer, placing 45th in 32:55. Freshman Brian McAndrews (Brookline, NH) was 46th in 34:35 to round out the Pride runners.


Senior Daniel Rono (Eldoret, Kenya), who is red-shirting this year, is the only Hofstra runner on the roster who ran in last year's IC4A Championship. He finished sixth to lead the Pride an 11th-place finish, clocking a time of 26:11. Hofstra accumulated 269 points to place 11th in the 16-team field. Binghamton won the race with 35 points. Fordham finished second with 60 points and Fairfield was third with 109 points. Fordham's Julian Saad, then a junior, was the individual medalist posting a time of 25:28 on the five-mile course.
