At 285, after a scoreless first period, Iowa's fifth-ranked Bobby Telford pinned Pride senior Paul Snyder in the second period, at the 4:35 mark on the contest, to close out the match. The Hawkeyes are 8-0 on the season and now 7-0 against Hofstra,

In the second match against Ohio State, the Buckeyes tallied two wins by pin, a tech fall and three major decision on the way to a 38-3 victory. The match opened with another top-20 match-up as Bonanno, at 19, faced 14th-ranked Nikko Triggas at 125 pounds. At 133 pounds, top-ranked Logan Stieber jumped out to a 10-0 lead after the first period on the way to a 16-0 tech fall win (4:14) over junior Jamie Franco (7-9). At 174, in a thrilling finish to regulation, Buckeye Craig Thomas posted a reversal in the waning seconds to take an 8-7 lead but a riding time advantage for Jermaine John tied the match at 8-8 and sent the contest into overtime. John (9-7) went after Thomas in the sudden victory period and posted a takedown just 12 seconds into the period for the 10-8 victory.
