Hempstead, NY - Hofstra won all five contested singles matches and took the doubles point as well in a 6-1 win over Rider Saturday at the Hofstra Outdoor Tennis Center.

The Pride upped its record to 1-0 as they won their dual meet opener after starting the season at the Stony Brook Invitational two weeks ago. Rider slipped to 1-2 on the season.

Adrien Bailly and Leo Pires both posted 6-0, 6-0 victories for the Pride. Bailly won at second singles over Adam Levi, while Pires picked up his win at fifth singles over Ed Chogllo. Ari Richman won at first singles, 6-0, 6-1 over Rollie Malfitano. Beau Wills earned a 6-1, 6-1 win over Nick Lubold at third singles and Joseph Erichsen snagged a 6-2, 6-2 win over Sean Sweeney at fourth singles. Rider picked up its only point of the match at sixth singles, winning by default.

The Pride dominated the two doubles matches that were contested with Bailly and Richman getting an 8-1 win over Malfitano and Lubold at first doubles. Erichsen and Wills posted an 8-0 win over Chogllo and Levi at second doubles.

Hofstra is back in action next Sunday, September 29, at 11.am. when it hosts St. Francis Brooklyn.
