Men’s Lacrosse Stuns No. 6 Cornell In Overtime
The Hofstra Men’s Lacrosse team battled back from a late 9-7 deficit to eventually capture a 10-9 overtime victory over No. 6 Cornell on Saturday. Mike Malave scored the game-winner that sent the Pride to its fifth straight win.
Cross Country Signs Four To NLIs
The Hofstra Cross Country program added four outstanding student-athletes this past week as the women’s team signed three to national letters of intent, while the men’s squad added one.
Hofstra Hosts Soccer Conference
More than 300 scholars, journalists, and fans from 25 countries, convened at Hofstra University this weekend to examined the economic, political and social impact of soccer at the largest international academic symposium assembled about the sport in the United States. Pele receiving an honorary degree at John Cranford Adams Playhouse on Friday. Among the highlights of the conference,“Soccer as the Beautiful Game: Football’s Artistry, Identity & Politics”, were the awarding of an honorary degree to the legendary soccer player Pelé.
Schreiber Sets Saves Mark, Hofstra Takes Series
The Hofstra Baseball program had an outstanding weekend, taking two of three from perennial CAA power UNCW and along the way senior pitcher Brett Schreiber set the program record for career saves.
Women’s Tennis Stays Hot
The Hofstra Women’s Tennis program is getting hot at the right time as the Pride won its sixth straight match, earning a 7-0 win over Monmouth. That match concluded the regular season for the Pride as they will head to the CAA Championship this week.
Volleyball Team Hosts Spike Out Breast Cancer Tournament
In what is now a yearly event for the Hofstra Volleyball program, the Pride hosted the Spike Out Breast Cancer Tournament recently. This year’s tournament raised more than $1,200 dollars to support the fight against breast cancer.
Upcoming Week – The Hofstra Softball program will get a visit from LSU on Wednesday after hosting Seton Hall on Tuesday. The doubleheader with the Tigers will be broadcast via the PRIDE ZONE on GoHofstra.com. Check out the upcoming Hofstra Athletics schedule for other events on campus and on the road this week.
NCAA Lacrosse Quarterfinals – Don’t forget to purchase your tickets to the upcoming NCAA Lacrosse Quarterfinals. Will be a great day with two terrific games at James M. Shuart Stadium on Saturday, May 17.

He captured an unbelievable image in the locker room after the men’s lacrosse team defeated No. 6 Cornell on Saturday. It is the second-most liked photo in the history of the Hofstra Pride Instagram account.
