“We are thrilled to offer members of the Hofstra community the opportunity to watch our Hofstra Pride Student-Athlete Awards Banquet next week,” commented Hofstra Vice President and Director of Athletics Jeffrey A. Hathaway. “This event is one of the many highlights of the year for the Department of Athletics and we look forward to a great night as we celebrate the many achievements of our student-athletes and as we recognize the very best in the areas of academics, athletics and community service.”

This exciting end of the year event culminates another outstanding year for Hofstra Athletics, even though several of the spring sports are still competing.

Following welcomes from Hofstra University President Stuart Rabinowitz and The Hofstra Pride Club President E. David Woycik, the announcement of a multitude of awards will begin.

First up will be the presentation of The Hofstra Pride Club Distinguished Service Award.

Following a break for dinner, the exciting announcement of more awards continues. The Pride Graduation and Hofstra Pride Outstanding Senior Athlete Awards will be announced next.

A pair of outstanding senior student-athletes will follow as women’s lacrosse student-athlete Alexandra Mezzanotte and men’s soccer student-athlete Chris Griebsch offer their senior comments on their time as members of the Hofstra community.

The most anticipated part of the evening is up next as the six major awards will be presented to the winners. There will be plenty of anticipation as the Hofstra Pride Community Service Awards, the Nick Colleluori Unsung Hero Awards, the Dr. Sylvia J. Giallombardo Award, Dr. James M. Shuart Award, the Dr. Nathalie J. Smith Award and the Howdy Myers Award are announced.

The evening will conclude with remarks from Hofstra Vice President and Director of Athletics Jeffrey A. Hathaway.
