Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra University Department of Athletics, along with Northwestern Mutual, recently hosted the “Life After Athletics” presentation for all senior student-athletes. The event was coordinated by Northwestern Mutual representatives Robert Johnson, Morgan Freitag and Scott Borrow, and educated the students on a variety of topics relevant to entering the work force.

Student-athletes received pertinent information regarding networking, professionalism and appropriate communication, along with a number of other areas as they look towards graduation.

“This event was a great experience. I feel more confident as I look towards graduation and speaking to people about future opportunities,” commented Kenny Jackson, a senior on the Pride baseball team. “We received some great advice on the power of following up with professionals after interactions and how to do so properly, and that is information that I will be sure to utilize in the future.”

The event was a rich experience for all involved and Hofstra would like to thank Robert Johnson and his team whose presentation was effective in providing valuable education. Hofstra is committed to providing the means by which student-athletes can prepare themselves for life after collegiate athletics and this presentation continued that mission.
