Hempstead, N.Y. -- Hofstra junior Morgan Lashley earned a share of the Colonial Athletic Association’s Pitcher of the Week honors and freshman third baseman Michaela Transue was tabbed as the Rookie of the Week for the period ending May 3, the league announced on Monday.

Lashley earned Co- CAA Softball Pitcher of the Week honors with James Madison’s Jailyn Ford after guiding the Pride to a three-game sweep of the Drexel Dragons after tossing back-to-back shutouts, including a no-hitter on Saturday. The no-hitter was her first as a member of the Hofstra squad. Lashley finished the weekend with a perfect ERA after tossing 11.0 innings and striking out eight batters. The Davidson, North Carolina native allowed just two hits (both singles) on the week.

Lashley picked up her second CAA award of the season and first since earning Pitcher of the Week honors on Feb. 25. Fellow junior Taylor Pirone has also taken home the award this season when she was named a Co-Pitcher of the Week on April 14.

Transue received CAA Softball Rookie of the Week for the second time this season after batting .375 to help the Pride to a sweep of Drexel at home. The infielder went 3-for-8 at the plate with three runs scored and two RBI. Transue posted a home run in Friday’s game against the Dragons. The rookie from Chenango Forks, New York, played strong defense at third handling all six chances to help Hofstra to three consecutive shutout victories to cap the regular season.

Hofstra will carry a season-high 10-game winning streak into the CAA Tournament. The third-seeded Pride (32-11, 11-4 CAA) will face the second-seeded College of Charleston on Wednesday at 3 p.m. from JMU’s Veterans Memorial Park.
