Kevin Mapp is in his seventh year of college coaching and his third season on the Pride coaching staff. He was promoted to defensive line coach and recruiting coordinator in January 2009 after serving as defensive ends coach in 2008 and defensive assistant in 2007. Under his direction last season the Pride defensive ends recorded 95 tackles and six sacks.
Mapp came to Hofstra from Marshall University where he served as defensive graduate-assistant from January 2007 to July 2007. He also served as a defensive assistant at Missouri Southern State University in Joplin, Missouri during the 2006 season and defensive line coach at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia during the 2005 season.
A 2005 graduate of James Madison University where he started at right tackle as a sophomore, Mapp began coaching after a neck injury ended his playing career following the 2002 season. He served as JMU's assistant offensive line coach during the 2003 season before becoming assistant defensive line coach from August 2004 through July 2005.
Kevin and his wife, Lindsay, reside in Malverne, New York.
