New York, NY - Nikki Kinnier and Kelsie Wills both blasted 20 kills to lead the Pride to a 3-2 win over Colgate at the Columbia Invitational Saturday afternoon. Set scores were 23-25, 25-14, 25-19, 16-25, 15-11.

Hofstra improves to 11-5 with its second consecutive win, while Colgate drops to 1-8.

Colgate took the first set, 25-23, in a battle that featured eight tie scores and five lead changes. Both teams hit well, with each compiling a .333 hitting percentage. The Pride dominated the second set, hitting at a .423 clip and keeping the Red Raiders to a .036 percentage, in taking a 25-14 win.

In the third set Hofstra rallied form a 9-6 deficit to take a 25-19 win. Kinnier had six of her 20 kills in the set. The Pride struggled in set four, hitting -.125 as Colgate forced a decisive fifth set with a 25-16 win.

But in the fifth set Hofstra pulled away with a 4-0 run, including two kills from Kinnier, to take an 11-7 lead enroute to the 15-11 win.

Wills also added 14 digs in the match, while Corrina Delgadillo had a match-high 15 digs. Catalina Charry dealt 47 assists and Kylee Maneja added 14 digs to help the Pride to victory.

Lindsay Young led Colgate with 10 kills.

Hofstra is back in action tonight at 7 p.m., versus host Columbia.
