Hempstead, NY - Hofstra University Head Men’s Basketball Coach Joe Mihalich announced today that redshirt sophomore Jordan Allen has indicated that he will graduate from Hofstra in May and intends to play his final two seasons at an NCAA Division II institution while pursuing a master’s degree.
“I can’t thank Jordan enough for everything he has done for our basketball program during his time on the Hofstra University campus,” commented Mihalich. “First and foremost, he has been an exemplary student-athlete who earned his degree in three years. In addition, in a year in which our team had multiple injuries and a small roster, Jordan put the team ahead of himself and did whatever the coaching staff asked of him on a daily basis. We thank him for his many contributions to the Hofstra Basketball program and wish him well.”
During his career with the Pride, Allen played in 62 games and scored 359 points, while also totaling 239 rebounds and 83 assists. He added 62 steals and 28 blocks.
This past season, Allen ranked fifth on the team in scoring with 6.6 points per game and was third with 4.8 rebounds. He started and played in 30 games in 2013-14, averaging 28.2 minutes per outing.
Allen notched a career-high 18 points at Delaware on January 8 of this season, while totaling career-highs of 11 rebounds at Richmond on November 19, 2013, and six assists most recently against James Madison on March 1, 2014.
