Hempstead, NY – The Hofstra Men’s Basketball team returns home to the Mack Sports Complex on Saturday when it hosts William & Mary at 4 p.m.

The game, the Pride’s second home conference tilt of the season, will be Hofstra’s first encounter against the Tribe since the regular season finale a season ago.  For ticket information call (516) HOF-TIXX or visit GoHofstra.com.

Hofstra (4-11, 1-1 CAA) dropped its first Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) game Wednesday to Delaware by the score of 69-54.  Junior forward Daquan Brown had the best game of his young Hofstra career with a team-high 13 points.  Junior forward Stephen Nwaukoni was strong as well with seven points and a game-high 11 rebounds.

Sophomore guard Taran Buie, who was held to just two points in the game against the Blue Hens, continues to lead Hofstra in scoring with 13.8 points per game.  Senior guard Stevie Mejia joins Buie in double figures with 10.5 points per outing.  Nwaukoni is the Pride’s top rebounder with 7.5 caroms per game, while also chipping in with 6.2 points per contest.

William & Mary is 7-7 overall and 1-2 in league play following a 99-86 double overtime loss to Towson on Wednesday.  Marcus Thornton leads the Tribe with 18.4 points per game, while Tim Rusthoven follows with 14.2 points and Brandon Britt is also in double figures with 14.0 points per outing.

Hofstra and William & Mary have met 18 times in a series that dates back to the 2001-02 campaign.  Hofstra leads the series, 12-6, but the Tribe won last season’s only meeting, 75-71, in Williamsburg.  Prior to that contest Hofstra had won three straight in the series.
