"Tony Perettine and I only played two years of lacrosse together but our friendship has lasted 28 years. As a valued and respected alumnus his support of HU's academic programs and athletics program is unwavering. An outstanding lacrosse player and teammate who exemplified how a student-athlete can perform at the highest level on both the athletic field and in the classroom. Whether in sports or business, Tony has excelled and he has always been someone whom his former teammates, friends, colleagues and Hofstra University can count on. Tony is a terrific role model to Hofstra student-athletes." --- Bob Quinlan teammate and currently Vice President, The Whitmore Group, LTD.

What brought you to Hofstra originally?:
The opportunity to play with my best friend and to continue to compete and receive a great education.

Why are you still involved in Hofstra Athletics?:
It's the right thing to do.  If you can and you know it's the right thing to do, you should.

What was the most impactful lesson you learned while at Hofstra?:
Humility.  It is a critical fiber in all my success during my four years at Hofstra and the rest of my life.  Failure is a great thing for the soul.

What is one piece of advice you have for current student-athletes?:
I don't give advice to student-athletes... they have enough going on without me confusing them.  If forced, I would say to spin your web - build your personal brand and network.  The connections you make now can impact the rest of your life.

Who was your coach and what wisdom did they impart on you?:
Harry Royle was my coach.  He was a tough-minded and deal-focused.

Why do you give back to Hofstra Athletics?:
Again, it is the right thing to do.  It is not only monetarily, it can be getting your company involved or speaking to groups of student-athletes.

When was the last time you visited campus?:
I have been on campus at least once a week for the past 10 years.

Do you still keep in touch with your teammates?:
Yes.  Tons of them.

What is the fondest memory of your Hofstra experience?:
Teammates.  Wins and losses are great and stats fill box scores.  I can tell you all about games we won and something about games we lost, but when I reflect on my four years, I only think of the time and memories I spent with my teammates.
