Hempstead, NY - Hofstra University sophomore guard Nicole Capurso was named the GoHofstra.com Player of the Week, it was announced today.
Capurso averaged 16 points per game in leading Hofstra to a perfect 2-0 week.
The second-year sharp-shooter had a stellar shooting week overall as she was 11-19 (58%) from the field in the two games and 8-13 (62%) from beyond the arc combined.
In Hofstra’s 72-39 win over George Mason on Thursday, Capurso led the Pride with 20 points, while also adding a pair of assists.She was 7-11 from the field, including 4-6 from three-point range, against the Patriots in 18 minutes of action.
Capurso would continue her solid shooting in Sunday’s 73-58 win over UNC Wilmington.She shot 4-8 from the field against the Seahawks, with all four made field goals coming from three-point territory.She added three assists and two rebounds in 30 minutes.
For the season, Capurso is Hofstra’s third-leading scorer at nine points per game.She has made a team-best 39 three-pointers as well.
