Hempstead, NY – The Hofstra Wrestling team returns to dual match action this Friday, December 9 when they travel to upstate New York to face the Bearcats of Binghamton University at West Gym. The Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association (EIWA) match begins at 7 p.m.

Hofstra, 0-1 in the EIWA and 1-1 on the season, is coming off a solid performance at the Blue and Gold/Journeymen Tussle at the Hofstra David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex last Sunday. Red-shirt freshmen

Sage Heller each placed second in their respective weight classes to lead the Pride in the Tussle.
In all, 11 of the 12 Hofstra wrestlers placed in the top five in their weight class. Kaminsky (7-7) was 2-1 on the day in the 157-pound "B" weight class while
Sage Heller (13-6) continued his winning ways with a 3-1 mark in the 174-pound "B" poll. In addition to Kaminsky and Heller, freshman
Vinny Vespa (5-6) placed third at 133 as did red-shirt sophomore
Bobby Fehr (2-3) at 165 pounds.
Four Hofstra grapplers placed fourth as red-shirt freshman
Connor Burkert (4-7) was 1-2 at 141 pounds, red-shirt sophomore
Connor Muli (3-8) was 0-3 at 149, classmate
Nezar Haddad (4-5) was 1-2 at 197 and sophomore
Omar Haddad (2-7) was 1-2 at 285. Three Pride wrestlers placed fifth as red-shirt sophomore
Michael Oxley (7-8), who was 2-2 at 184, classmate
Ryan Burkert (5-7) was 1-2 at 149 and red-shirt junior
Kyle Krasavage (6-4) was 1-2 at 141. Freshman
Jacob Martin (5-9) finished eighth at 125 pounds.
Hofstra last met the Bearcats on January 17, 2016 in Hempstead with Binghamton winning their second consecutive dual match over the Pride, 31-10. The Bearcats topped Hofstra in 2014-15, 19-16. Before that the Pride defeated Binghamton in 2012-13, 23-19, and 2013-14, 28-8.
Binghamton begins its dual match schedule Friday after four tournaments over the last month. The Bearcats are coming off a 22
nd-place finish in the 34-team Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational last weekend. Junior Steve Schneider posted a 7-2 record at 184-pounds to earn fourth place at the CKLV. Schneider is ranked 13 by Intermat this week.
In addition to Schneider, Binghamton is led by junior Vincent DePrez (9-2) at 165, sophomore Steve Bulzomi (7-4) at 125 and red-shirt senior Dylan Caruana (7-4) at 141.
