Romania – Former Hofstra Women's Basketball player
Anjie White has begun a professional career with Politehnica National Iasi of the Romanian Liga Nationala.
"We are extremely excited for Anjie to start her pro career in Romania," said Hofstra Women's Basketball Head Coach
Krista Kilburn-Steveskey. "She is beginning the next chapter in her life! She was a special player for us at Hofstra over the past two year. She is tough, gritty, and is quite intelligent with an enormous desire to win. I know she will be a highly sought-after player if she sticks with the pro scene, and we wish here all the best!"
In her two seasons at Hofstra after transferring from George Washington, White averaged 9.1 points and 7.1 rebounds per game. During the 2015-16 season, White led the team in defensive rebounds (168) and blocks (48). She set a career high with 20 rebounds against Towson on Feb. 7, 2016, with her 13 defensive rebounds in that game also marking a career best.
Politehnica National Iasi begins its season Friday with a matchup against Sirius TGM.
