MBB: Hofstra Begins Three-Game Homestand Against Elon

Hempstead, NY – The Hofstra Men's Basketball team will start a three-game homestand on Saturday when it hosts Elon.

Tip-off from the David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex is scheduled for 4 p.m.

During the game the Hofstra Department of Athletics will recognize the Hofstra Dance Team for capturing its second straight national title as Division 1 Pom Champions. In addition, the Hofstra Women's Basketball alumnae in attendance will be recognized as they return to campus this weekend for their annual alumnae weekend.

Fans can purchase tickets by visiting HofstraTickets.com, where it is possible to print their tickets at home. In addition, fans can also call (516) HOF-TIXX or visit the Hofstra Athletics Box Office in the Mack Sports Complex for more ticket information.

There will be Pride Productions live video/audio of the game with links available on this page or via the men's basketball schedule page at GoHofstra.com. The Pride Productions audio only broadcast can be heard via the portal, on the WRHU mobile app and on WRHU.org.

The Pride dropped an 81-80 overtime decision to Drexel on Thursday to fall to 10-12 overall and 2-7 in Colonial Athletic Association play. It was another incredible game from sophomore Justin Wright-Foreman as he poured in 30 points for the second consecutive game and the third time this season.

Since 2010, only Charles Jenkins had more 30-point games in a single season as he had four in 2010-11. Wright-Foreman is tied with Mike Moore (2011-12) and Zeke Upshaw (2013-14).

Elon brings a 13-9 overall mark and a 5-4 CAA record into Saturday's tilt following a 51-49 victory over Northeastern on Thursday. The Phoenix, which has won three straight games, got 15 points and eight rebounds from Tyler Seibring on Thursday at Northeastern.

Saturday's game will pit this week's two CAA Players of the Week as Wright-Foreman and Seibring shared the award on Monday.

Hofstra leads the all-time series with Elon, 5-1. The Phoenix won this season's first meeting, 96-80, down in North Carolina on January 12. The first-ever meeting in the series was during the 2009-10 NIT Season Tip-Off with Hofstra winning by the score of 70-46. The other five meetings have all occurred since Elon and Hofstra became CAA rivals.
